Chaska, MN (March 13, 2016) – The University of Oklahoma curling team was seeded as the fourth team in Pool B against Rochester Institute of Technology, State University of New York - Polytechnic Institute, and Harvard University. The Sooners continued on to play Hamilton College in the 5th place pool. Hamilton would go on to beat the Sooners and Bowdoin College for 5th place. "Overall, the fact our curling team was able to beat the odds and qualify for the National Tournament this year was amazing," said Casey Cascio, the general manager of the team. He continued, "From the beginning of the year, I told the team we were going to qualify and compete in this nationals despite losing our four year starter at the skip position. As much as this year was a rebuilding year, I refused to call it that. I trusted this team to get the job done, and they certainly did." Lead, Dillon Kovar, gave an interview to David McCoy of CBS Minnesota on the Sooners sporting cat shirts at the 2016 Collegiate Curling National Tournament.
