Norman, OK (February 24, 2016) – The University of Oklahoma curling team finished their regular season as one of the top 16 collegiate curling teams in the country, and accepted their invitation to compete for the 2016 National Title. During the regular season, the Sooners traveled more than 6,700 miles, the most of any collegiate team, competing in Oklahoma, Texas, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, and, for the first time, Wisconsin. The Sooners had their best finish this season at the Denver Collegiate Bonspiel where they finished 1st overall.
The 2016 Collegiate Curling National Championships will be held at the new $24 million state-of-the-art curling facility in Chaska, MN from March 11 - 13. The Sooners will be seen as an underdog in the tournament since they are not from a traditional curling region and will be the southernmost school competing. |
